Quotation from Press Release:
‘This will be the first and most personal showing of Daisy’s work, journeying through her life over the last year. The show takes us through the artist’s experience of heartbreak, loneliness and a longing for a new sense of normal. Her work is a means of processing and understanding the chaos of life and in doing so, healing.
The title of each piece is as important as the visual of the rug itself. Each creates a window into Daisy’s mind, often juxtaposing one’s first interpretation of the work. The narrative of the rug is only complete with the title. This series of self portraits discusses different themes to her previous work, which focused mainly on infertility. Daisy’s work is immediately recognisable due to its vulnerable and deeply personal nature, which connects viewers not only to her growth as an artist but also to their own vulnerabilities.
